At EGGIE salon studio, we focus on giving you the best hair care and style that suits you perfectly. Our treatments are customized to meet your specific hair needs and desired look. Our main goal is to make your hair look fantastic when you leave our salon and help you maintain that amazing look at home.

We started with one stylist and now have a team of passionate and skilled stylists. No matter which stylist you choose, you’ll get a consistent and exceptional experience.

All our stylists go through the Associate Program where they learn the EGGIE Method of hair care, cutting, and styling from experienced EGGIE Educators. This ensures that every stylist in our salon is well-trained and knowledgeable, providing top-notch services. “After just one sit-down conversation with Rachel and her salon manager, Mimi—who is also my close childhood friend—I was confident that EGGIE Salon Studio had everything I craved as a stylist and educator in the hair industry. Rachel and I have known each other for several years, and aside from our shared passion for hair, we have a great deal in common. Both native Baton Rougeans, we moved in similar circles throughout high school and college, and even attended the same cosmetology school—Aveda—in different cities.

Shortly after cosmetology school, I spent six years in Shreveport working as a makeup artist on a TV set and later as a stylist, soaking up as many skills and as much knowledge as I could at a Summit Salon. My growth and success at the Summit Salon led to the rewarding opportunity to train and mentor seven associates who quickly climbed the ranks to become Level 1 Stylists. While my time at the Summit Salon was fulfilling, I was ready to head home and “shake up the industry” in Baton Rouge—an idea that Rachel and I often dreamed of tackling together.

Despite my admiration for Rachel’s avant-garde vision for her salon’s future, it was challenging for me to envision working for her rather than alongside her as a top stylist. However, once the ground was broken and Rachel’s dreams for EGGIE Salon Studio took shape, I recognized the “groundbreaking” career opportunity it presented. I trusted that Rachel valued my talents not only as a stylist but also as an educator.

Now, whether I am teaching classes to our team of stylists or working right alongside them, I feel inspired and grateful to be part of a salon that fosters creativity and shared passion. “My career in the hair industry began in a small boutique salon in 2010. A decade later, I found myself tired and a bit disillusioned with the direction my career was headed. In addition to my work as a stylist, I was juggling a few other jobs to supplement my income and accommodate my love for the finer things in life. I was ready for a change but uncertain about what that change should look like. Despite my passion for hair, I considered leaving the industry altogether and returning to school for an additional degree. The stress, exhaustion, and constant budgeting seemed never-ending.

On multiple occasions, a close friend encouraged me to reach out to Rachel, confident that Rachel was building a “game-changing” salon business for the Baton Rouge community. She insisted I would want to be a part of it after learning more. However, I believed the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and doubted my issues would resolve simply by changing locations. But after a particularly arduous week and while considering other career opportunities outside of the hair industry, I decided to contact Rachel.

On February 17th, 2020, after multiple meetings with Rachel, countless discussions with my husband, and consultations with friends who own successful businesses, I took a leap of faith and joined EGGIE Salon Studio as a Level 1 stylist. Unfortunately, three short weeks later, the COVID-19 pandemic shut the world down. While the salon’s doors were closed for two months, many great things were happening behind the scenes. Our team used this time to get to know one another, support each other, and make the best of a difficult situation. This period allowed us to lay a solid foundation for our team and secure a vision for what we strive for every day.

In January 2022, I became a Level 4 stylist. For the first time in over fifteen years, I am working one job, earning six figures, and have a renewed passion and energy for my work. People have always told me ‘the sky is the limit,’ but I never truly believed it until I walked through the doors of EGGIE Salon Studio.”

“After receiving my cosmetology license in September of 2016, I spent the following 10 months assisting at a local salon before taking my first bold jump in my career by renting my own booth. During this time, I often wondered where my career would take me and how I could grow as a stylist to meet my own professional goals as well as the needs of my clients. I began praying for some sort of sign, and soon discovered a post on Rachel’s Instagram page stating that she was looking to hire a salon assistant. I messaged her immediately, emailed her my resume, and the rest is history…

During my first casual meeting with Rachel in her salon suite, I was drawn to her vibrant personality and passion for her work. She was–very efficiently– juggling four clients at once in her small salon space, but she still took the time to chat with me and make me feel welcome. A few weeks later, I had an official interview with Rachel and began working with her as her salon assistant on April 1st, 2019.

Five years have passed since I joined Rachel in this adventure, and I’m proud yet humbled to acknowledge that I have surpassed all goals and expectations I had for myself as a stylist in 2016. I have traveled to new places for professional development opportunities, met clients from all different places and have coworkers that have become some of my closest friends. I value the challenges of long, hard days, tough conversations, and difficult decisions like never before, as they have helped shape me into not only the stylist I am today, but also as the friend, coworker, wife, and mom I have always wanted to be. EGGIE Salon Studio is more than a hair salon – it is an innovative, artistic, collaborative game-changer for the Baton Rouge community, and I am honored to be a part of it.”

Madison Evans

Level 2 Stylist

My journey into the beauty industry began at 16, creating my own clip-in hair extensions for pageants. Soon, I was doing hair and makeup for myself and friends for pageants and school dances, but I never imagined it would evolve into more than a fun side hustle. Watching my friends head to college, I realized that path wasn’t for me. One day, my Mimi suggested I consider hair school, and by the next week, I had signed up at Aveda.

As I dove into researching the beauty industry, I found myself drawn to color and extensions, sparking a deep passion for these areas. After graduating hair school, I packed my bags and moved to New Orleans, ready for a fresh start. However, the city wasn’t quite the fit I expected, and when COVID hit, I decided to return home to Lake Charles. During that time, I threw myself into online courses, studying marketing and how to build a clientele. I practiced hair color and extensions relentlessly, refining my skills and laying the foundation for my future.

My dedication paid off as I traveled the country attending classes and even styled hair at New York Fashion Week. As my career quickly took off, I transitioned to booth renting, but found the solo journey lacked the team dynamic I craved. Moving to a salon suite felt like the next step, but it ended up being isolating, and I realized I needed a supportive environment to thrive. After managing a salon while still working behind the chair, I knew I was ready for a change.

Throughout my career, I followed Rachel and admired her work, but I never thought I would leave the loyal clientele I had built in Lake Charles. However, in May 2023, I took the leap and joined the team at EGGIE Salon Studio. The decision was bittersweet—I was excited but also nervous to leave my clients. For six months, I commuted between Lake Charles and Baton Rouge to serve both groups of clients. By October, I fully committed to EGGIE, drawn in by the incredible team that shares my vision.

Since joining EGGIE, I’ve grown tremendously both personally and professionally. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing opportunities that brought me here.

“I have always dreamed of becoming a hairstylist, but I never imagined a job could be as enjoyable and rewarding as my job at EGGIE is. One of my biggest role models and encouragers, my aunt, was also a hairstylist. I always found her career so intriguing because she was able to develop meaningful relationships with her clients while doing what she truly loved. As a child, I would cut my Barbies’ hair and remember being so proud of the beautiful transformations I gave them.

I began cosmetology school in January of 2020. Thankfully, after COVID cases dropped, I was able to attend in-person classes and really take advantage of the opportunity to have a hands-on learning experience. While completing my degree, I began searching for salons that would enrich my educational experience and prepare me for my future career.

EGGIE Salon Studio was first on my list, and I consider myself lucky to have been offered a position with them. I officially joined the team in April of 2022, and I immediately began learning more efficient and effective ways to communicate with clients and execute what my clients want. The more time I spend in the salon, the more I appreciate the work we do as hairstylists. Being able to make a client feel beautiful and leave with confidence and the knowledge to maintain their style at home is an amazing feeling to carry.

I have developed so much as a professional since I began my career with EGGIE; most notably, my confidence in my work has grown exponentially as I have learned to execute many of the techniques, tips, and tricks other EGGIE stylists have shown me. I love coming to work each day ready to do new things and make each client feel special and seen in their own way. “From a young age, I have always had an itch to be creative. Art was constantly consuming my life and I knew I wanted to work in a career that gave me the ability to create. A career project in fifth grade led me to find that cosmetology was a great option. I have always had a love for hair and makeup and I knew this was an amazing opportunity. Growing up as a dancer, I begged my mom to let me do my own hair and makeup for my dance recitals, which led to styling hair for school dances and doing makeup for numerous events. Throughout high school, I found myself wavering between the idea of following the traditional route and obtaining a degree, or pursuing what truly brings me happiness. With the support of my family, I entered cosmetology school in September of 2021 and quickly fell in love with this profession. Not only did I develop a deep passion for hair cutting, coloring, and styling, but I also discovered the joy of connecting with clients and the impact I could have on their self-perception.

Through cosmetology school, I knew that I wanted to grow as much as I possibly could. Coming from a small town, I felt limited in my to create a future I had envisioned for myself which led me to decide that I wanted to be a part of something that would continue my education and spread positivity. I came across EGGIE’s instagram page and was so intrigued by not only the beauty of the salon, but the educational side of the associate program here. I quickly realized that if I wanted to be the best I could be, I would need to learn from the best of the best. I was soon contacted by an Eggie stylist who expressed interest in my skills. She visited my cosmetology school and I had the opportunity to give her a blowout . Later that month I visited the salon for the first time and was greeted with charismatic smiles and overwhelming joy. I knew that this was the place I was meant to be. Soon after, I met with Rachel and quickly fell in love with everything she was building.

Since I started working at Eggie in November 2022, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The amount of knowledge and skills I have acquired during this time has surpassed all my expectations. Working with the seasoned stylists is truly a gift and building a clientele that is patient, understanding, and supportive is more than I could’ve ever asked for. This team has not only contributed to my growth as a stylist, but also as a person and I cannot wait to see where EGGIE continues to take me!”

“My journey in the beauty industry began back in high school during the 1990s when I started by sweeping hair and answering phones. Even in the 9th grade, I had a strong sense that becoming a stylist was my destiny. However, like many aspiring stylists, I initially ignored that calling and pursued a college education. After just one semester, I realized I had made a mistake, so I had a heart-to-heart conversation with my parents. They fully supported my decision to attend beauty school, and we began researching the top schools in the area. In 2001, I enrolled at the Douglas J. Aveda Institute in East Lansing, Michigan, and I fell in love with the profession from day one.

Following my schooling, I worked in a high-end salon in my hometown in northern Indiana for a few years. Later, an exciting opportunity arose that led me to Indianapolis to work for Aveda Corporate as a Salon Development Partner. This move thrust me into the business side of the beauty industry, which proved to be a valuable experience for me in the years to come. Despite my passion for helping other salons thrive, I found myself missing the art of working behind the chair. Two years later, I returned to a salon environment and resumed what I truly loved.

For 18 years, I dedicated my career to Indianapolis, with a decade of that time spent operating my own salon. Eventually, I moved to Baton Rouge due to my spouse’s job relocation.

Reflecting on my more than 20 years in the beauty industry, I feel incredibly grateful for the journey that led me to Rachel and EGGIE Salon Studio. Each day in this thriving environment, surrounded by incredibly talented individuals, I continue to learn and grow my craft. In addition to my work as a stylist, I am thrilled to be part of the leadership team at EGGIE and to hold the position of Director of Associate Training. Guiding and mentoring our young stylists, enabling them to build successful and fulfilling careers, has become my passion as a seasoned stylist.
